课程内容简介：本课程介绍二十世纪生物史编史纲领，主要为有意投身生物史研究和写作的研究生提供过去一世纪国际生物史学术界的重要图景、研究论题、重要领航者。生物史在科学史领域来说是一门新学科，主要围绕达尔文主义在19世纪的兴起而发展，二战后，从达尔文研究分支出对达尔文研究的反思，进入20世纪末，生物史与全球史相互交融，迈入全球视野下的生物史编写与研究。
Course description: This course aims to offer an informed introduction to the historiographical issues in writing and researching (mostly) twentieth-century biology. Through assessing the state of the field since its emergence in the nineteenth century, the course will provide students with concepts and tools to help make an informed contribution to the scholarly study in the history of biology. The centenary of the Origin of Species in 1959 prompted a flood of books on Darwin. The following decades saw the emergence of what became known as the Darwin industry, which focused on analyzing his published works, as well as his abundant notebooks and private papers. In the last decade of the twentieth century, history of biology took a global turn, broadening the temporal and spatial scope of the field.
