In this paper, Assistant Professor Alberto Bardi explores the relationships between scientific and theological discourses at the intersection of medieval and early modern times, as well as the historiography of science. Through a case study from the fourteenth century in Byzantium, the article examines the differences between scientific and theological discourses, their evolution during the transition from the medieval to early modern period through the Scientific Revolution, and the distinct historical developments of science in Eastern and Western Europe. The study provides new historical perspectives for understanding these complex intersections.
