讲座简介：
This lecture is an expanded version of the lecture "Tokyo Tech's history of opening up opportunities for women including Chinese students" that I gave at Tsinghua University in 2023. Before World War II, Japanese industrial universities had a system of foreign students and entrusted students in addition to regular students. I will introduce these old systems and explain why Chinese students, including women, were able to obtain a Japanese Bachelor of Engineering. Some of the Chinese students who studied in Japan had already obtained a bachelor's degree at a Chinese university before coming to Japan.

Yoshimi TAKUWA is a lecturer of the History of Science, Institute for Liberal Arts, Tokyo Institute of Technology, employed in 2018.
