出生于意大利，2017年在慕尼黑大学获得博士学位，曾在多个著名机构担任博士后研究员，其中包括哈佛大学。专门研究天文学史、中世纪和文艺复兴时期的研究以及拜占庭研究。在加入清华之前，他曾在耶路撒冷的希伯来大学任教。他的著作包括《拜占庭的波斯天文学》（慕尼黑，2020）和《贝萨里昂的天文学及其文化背景》（威尼斯，即将出版）。
